Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival Delhi Today you arrive at Delhi airport. Make your own arrangements to hotel. Overnight in hotel. |
Day 2: Delhi City Tour After breakfast proceed for a sightseeing tour. Delhi is a city built and re-built seven times over several centuries. The capital city today marries the quaint and unique elements of different historical eras with the pace of the bustling, growing economy. At every turn of the road, the past and the present coexist. Visit the Red Fort, Chandni Chowk Bazaar and Khari Baoli spice market on your way to visit Jama Masjid. One of the largest mosques in the world and the largest in India, it was built by Shah Jahan to dominate the city. Visit the Raj Ghat, a memorial built to commemorate the site of Mahatma Gandhi’s cremation. Later proceed for a visit to the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Qutub Minar, India’s tallest minaret, made of red sandstone and marble and inscribed with verses from the Qur’an. Stop next at Humayun’s Tomb, another UNESCO World Heritage site and tomb of a Mughal emperor dating back to the 1500s. Next, pass under the high stone archway of India Gate – constructed in the memory of Indian soldiers who died in World War I – and drive along Rajpath (King's Way), the ceremonial boulevard heading toward Rashtrapati Bhavan, official home to the President of India. If time permitting you can visit Gurudwara Bangla Sahib. Overnight in hotel. |
Day 3: Delhi to Jaipur (265 kms /5 hrs) Today after breakfast you will check-out from hotel and drive to the pink city of Jaipur. On arrival you will check-in at hotel. Later in the evening you can go out for shopping in the famous market places of visit to The Birla Mandir. Overnight in hotel. |
Day 4: Jaipur After Breakfast, visit Amber - the ancient capital of the Rajput Empire reaching the fort on elephant back. It is a deserted palace surrounded by majestic ramparts & the magnificent public & private room's evidence the splendor of the rulers of 16th & 17th century Rajasthan.Later in the day continue tour of the Pink city visiting the imposing City Palace now a museum, the ancient Observatory, The exotic Palace of the Winds & the picturesque bazaars of the walled city. Overnight in hotel. |
Day 5: Jaipur to Agra Enroute Fatehpur Sikri (235 kms /5 hours) This morning after breakfast you will drive to Agra, enroute you will visit the Fatehpur Sikri, the deserted red sandstone city built by the Mughal Emperor Akbar. Later continue drive to Agra. On arrival check into your hotel and rest of the day is at leisure. |
Day 6: Agra After breakfast proceed to visit to the world - famous Taj Mahal - 'the 7 wonders of World’ was built by Shah Jehan to immortalize the memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal who died tragically in 1631. Next visit, the Agra Fort built by three generations of Mughal Emperors between 1565 and 1573. It housed both the presidential Palaces of the Royal family, and the military quarters. You can also visit the Tomb of Itmad-ud-Daula also called the ‘Baby Taj’. The tomb, built between 1622 and 1628 has walls made of white marble from Rajasthan, encrusted with semi-precious stone decorations. Overnight in hotel. |
Day 7: Agra to Varanasi (Overnight train; 20:30 hours departure) The schedule arrival time at Varanasi station is 10:30 hours. On arrival you will be transferred to hotel. Later in the evening you will go out to see the Ganga Aarti, a religious ceremony performed on the Ghats of the river Ganges. Overnight in hotel. |
Day 8: Varanasi Enjoy an early morning boat ride on the Ganges to view the sunrise from the boat. From dawn to dusk the Ghats (riverside steps) are thronged by thousands of devotees, who perform their holy rituals in the hope of attaining eternal salvation, the ‘nirvana’. On return you will see the city with its an incredible array of temples and ancient buildings. There are 2,000 temples and shrines in Varanasi, but the holiest, Vishvanatha, is closed to non-Hindus. The Durga Temple, which can be visited, is teeming with monkeys (hold onto your valuables). Later proceed for Sarnath visit. The deer park in Sarnath is where Lord Gautama Buddha first gave his preachings to his followers. Among the other places of interest is the Ashoka Pillar and the Archaeological Museum. Overnight stay in hotel. |
Day 9: Departure from Varanasi Today you will make your own arrangements to transfer to airport for your flight for onward destination. |
